Auto detailing

Your hands are wet and the phone is ringing.

The caller wants a price on a three-row SUV that has had two dogs in it. That is not a price-list answer, it is three questions, and you are inside somebody else’s car with a polisher running. The agent asks the questions, quotes your range for that size and condition, and holds the bay with a deposit.

Demo Auto Detailing is our demo company, and its prices are invented. The system answering is the real one.

you just texted me back. what does a ceramic coating run on a tahoe
On a Tahoe, coating runs $900 to $1,400 depending on how much paint correction it needs first. Has it been coated before, and is there swirling in the paint?
never coated. lots of swirls from the automatic wash
That is usually a one-stage correction, so $1,100, and it takes the full day in the bay. Friday or the Tuesday after are open. A $200 deposit holds the day and comes off the total. Which works?
friday
Friday bay booked · deposit link sent · vehicle and condition on record · nobody put the polisher down

Yours would answer from your packages, your bay schedule and your own deposit rules.

The three leaks

Where auto detailing revenue actually goes.

You cannot answer with a polisher running

Your hands are in a wheel well, or holding a polisher against a door. The phone rings out, and by the time you wipe down and call back, they have booked the next detailer on the list.

The quote nobody could give

Size, paint condition, pet hair, how long since the last wash. No price list answers that, and a reply that says “it depends, give me a call” ends the conversation instead of starting one.

The bay day that went empty

A coating is a full day of the only bay you have. A no-show, or a rain cancellation with nobody on the waitlist, is that entire day gone and no way to sell it twice.

One agent, every inbox it lands in

A detailing inquiry arrives wherever the customer happens to be standing. The same agent answers all five, asks the same questions about the vehicle, and writes to one record.

What the agent handles

Quoting by vehicle and condition

Asks the size, the condition and what they actually want done, then quotes the range you set for that combination. Where it cannot judge from the answers, it asks for photos rather than guessing a number.

Booking around bay time

Knows a full correction is a day and a maintenance wash is an hour. It only offers slots where the work in front of it genuinely fits.

Deposits on the long jobs

Sends a payment link inside the conversation and holds the day once it clears. A coating slot is not held on somebody’s intention to show up.

Weather holds and rescheduling

A mobile job sitting in a wet forecast is moved the night before, with the next dry slot offered in the same message, so it reschedules instead of canceling.

Mobile jobs and service radius

Checks the address against the area you cover, quotes the travel charge you set, and asks about power and water on site before it books anything.

Review requests and coating maintenance

The review is asked for after pickup, while the car still looks like that. Coating maintenance is followed up at the interval you set, not whenever someone remembers.

FAQ

Auto detailing questions.

Will it quote a price without seeing the car?

It quotes the range you gave it for that vehicle size and that condition, and it says plainly that it is a range. Anything it cannot judge from the answers becomes a photo request or a walk-around, never a number it made up.

Can it take a deposit for a coating?

Yes. It sends a payment link during the conversation and only holds the day once the deposit clears. On a job that takes the bay for a full day, that is the difference between a booking and an intention.

I run on a calendar and my phone. Is that enough?

It is. Most detailers have no booking system and do not need one bolted on. It books into the calendar you already use, keeps what the customer said about the vehicle attached to the slot, and texts you the day’s list in the morning.

What happens when the weather turns?

You set the rule for what counts as too wet and which jobs are weather-dependent. It applies the rule, moves those jobs the night before, and offers the next dry slot in the same message rather than leaving the customer to rebook themselves.
