Salons and barbershops

A trim and a color correction are not the same booking.

Someone asks whether you can fit them in Saturday, and the honest answer depends on what they want done. The agent asks that first, books the amount of chair time the service actually needs, takes a deposit on the long ones and puts it on the right stylist’s day.

any chance you could fit me in saturday
Depends what you are after. A cut and blow dry, yes, Saturday 11:15 with one of our stylists. A color correction is closer to four hours, so that would be the Saturday after.
its been box dyed twice and gone brassy
That is the four hour one. Saturday the 14th at 9am with your stylist, and a $75 deposit holds it because it takes her whole morning. Do you want me to hold it?
yes please
Four hour slot held Sat 9:00 · deposit link sent · note attached for the stylist

The three leaks

Where salon revenue actually goes.

The phone nobody can reach

Your hands are in someone’s hair from ten in the morning. The calls go to voicemail, and a person trying to book a haircut does not leave one. They ring the next salon.

The long service that did not show

A color correction is most of an afternoon. When it does not turn up, the afternoon does not come back and nothing was holding it, because nobody wants to ask for a deposit over the phone.

The rebook that never got asked for

She is at the desk with her coat on and you are already washing the next head. The next appointment only happens if somebody asks before she is out the door.

One agent, wherever they ask

Booking questions arrive in whichever app the client already had open. The same agent answers all five, with one book and one client record behind them.

What the agent handles

Booking by service, not by slot

Asks what they want done before it offers a time, so a forty minute cut and a four hour correction each get the chair time they actually need.

Deposits on the long services

Anything past a length you set gets a payment link in the conversation, and the chair is only held once it clears.

Rebooking before they leave

Asks for the next appointment while the client is still in the chair and the cut is still fresh, then confirms it by text on the way out.

Filling a slot that just opened

A Friday cancellation at nine in the morning goes out to the waitlist in order instead of sitting empty until five.

Requests for a particular stylist

Knows who does what and who is in on which days, so a request for one person gets that person’s hours rather than the first gap in the book.

Prices, timing and policy questions

Answers your own price list, your own late policy and how long each service takes, the same way every time and without anyone stopping mid blow dry.

FAQ

Salon and barbershop questions.

Does it know how long each service takes?

It books from your service list with your own times against each one. A cut, a full head of color and a correction are three different lengths of appointment, so it asks which one before it offers a time rather than dropping everybody into the same slot.

Can it take a deposit on a long appointment?

Yes. You choose which services need one and how much, and it sends the link during the conversation. The chair is not held until it clears, which is the entire reason for asking.

Will it book with a specific stylist?

Yes. It knows who works which days and which services each person does. If the stylist they want is booked out, it says so and offers her next opening rather than quietly putting them with somebody else.

We already use a booking app. Does this replace it?

No, it sits in front of it. The agent has the conversation, works out what is actually being booked and how much chair time it needs, then writes the appointment into whatever you already keep your book in. Nobody changes systems to get the phone answered.
